Befitting a world gaming capital, check out Macau’s city website. A boardgame theme! It’s rare that a government website makes me giggle.
Hm. Sino-Portuguese cuisine, modern casinos, ruined old cathedrals… Congratulations, hilariously awesome website, Macau’s been added to my “want to go there” list.

A lot of people hate Macau, claiming that it’s dirty and seedy in the same run-down way that Atlantic City is. They’re wrong, of course. First of all, the food is awesome (Cantonese meets Portuguese), and they have great street food which is a huge plus. It’s a small, easy to get around city with great architecture and good weather; the fact that it’s chock full of casinos is just a nice bonus. And it’s only a twenty-dollar, hour or so ferry ride from Hong Kong. What’s not to love?
