Lots of interesting and exciting things on the horizon here at US Embassy Islamabad, including but not restricted to:
- 2 (2!) upcoming trips outside of Islamabad to other locales in Pakistan. in the span of two weeks my "cities visited in Pakistan" list will increase 300%. Locations to be disclosed at a later date.
- A newly internet enabled dwelling, allowing for the uploading of photos. Soon to be published on the web for all to see: pictures of my humongous house. And, of course, travels referenced above.
- Fun becoming a quick expert on topics previously ignored. Thank you Ms. Antionia Gisolfi!
After these bullets move from potentiality to actuality, I'll (inshallah) have some fun stories to share. Right now I'm stuck in the "prep" stage…

The real diplodocus was a dinosaur with a really long neck.
This Diplodocus is some guy who was once unhealthily obsessed with dinosaurs (me). Now I’m in a career that is homonymically related to the double-beam sauropod, but actually comes from: “L. adj. diplomaticos, from diploma (gen. diplomatis) ‘official document conferring a privilege.’ ” (Thanks, Online Etymology Dictionary.)
My sister declared this blog name to be possibly the dorkiest thing she had ever heard. I consider that tacit approval of the highest order.
But as the title indicates, this is just a test post. Real posting, along with some html-ing to make the site look pretty and whatnot, to come once the madness of packing, shipping, and so on comes to an end.
