Premium Cable Channels are (Not) Awesome June 11, 2007

Posted by KG in Etc..

There’s a lot of chatter out on the tubes about The Sopranos; apparently it ended last night.  Some folks found the finale satisfying, while others strongly disagree.  Since I’m sans-HBO, my opinion is unformed, though I’ll probably have one next weekend when I go visit my parents, their expensive cable package complete with HBO-On-Demand,  and their very large and beautiful television.

But on the topic of closure and HBO shows:  Remember Carnivàle?  I was a huge fan.  Thus my lack of sympathy for Sopranos fans cursing David Chase: at least you got an actual, intentional finale.  The second season of Carnivàle ended with an enormous, fascinating, and incredibly frustrating cliffhanger.  And then?  Nothing.  Sigh.
